Lincoln Statue - Hodgenville

One of my favorite photos I took while I lived in Kentucky.  I had a lot of help getting this photo just right.  It has been used in newspapers, flyers, magazines, etc.

This is in Hodgenville, KY, the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln.  There is a National Park down the road.  My wife worked here for 2 years as their Main Street Director.  She also worked as a Park Ranger at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace for 2 years.

Butterfly on Leaf

This shot was taken at the Monsanto Insectarium at the St. Louis Zoo in June 2006.

I was still learning how to use the camera and realized that i wanted a larger aperture to get a proper bokeh. I think I Photoshopped this photo to fake the bokeh. When I find the original (one day) I'll be able to confirm it. :)

Air Force Museum 2

Went to the Air Force Museum yesterday in Dayton, Ohio. This museum is located on Wright Patterson Air Force Base. A base that my Grandfather has been to many times. This is from the World War I hanger.

I rotated this photo a little and change the levels to accent the metal and rivets.

I only brought my 50mm; the lighting there demands a large aperture.

St. Louis Bear

"What's Up?" I know that is what he was thinking. I was taking pictures of this bear for quite a while one day at the St. Louis Zoo in 2005. I was new to SLRs and this was my 1st one - the Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D - Great Camera. Not sure if Sony's purchase of Konica Minolta's camera division was good for this line or not; only time will tell.
